Date added: 2009-03-28
Long brush strokes using acrylic paint, transformed into a cross stitch pattern. The table runner has brush stroke and tulip patterns.
Tulip 2009

The pillow and table runner were created by experimenting with the shapes of brush strokes when using acrylic paint. The first work was the red table runner, made on fine linen. Both pillows were done black/gray on coarse linen.

This cross stitch design is based on a drawing by Jens Byriel. The drawing was used for a small poster in occasion of my spring exhibit 2009 in Graasten. Thanks!
The stitching is done on linen (8 threads per cm.) using ½ cross stitches and back stitches. Use four threads DMC or two threads Dansk Blomstergarn in the needle while stitching.

Angels 2009
Date added: 2009-09-24

I got a box of colored pencils (metallic) as a gift, and immediately used them to draw this sheet of angles. I transferred the drawing into a cross stitch pattern by hand to get the best result.
Three Angels 2009

The structure in a small pencil sketch, and the fine details of the lines makes these angels drift into the air.
To me, cross stitching is about exploring as
many different directions as possible, experimenting,
developing and constantly being curious. What
interests me, is the initial idea and the shaping
of the motive. Some of my results can be seen on this
website. Enjoy, Bodil.
